More about the role:
Prasad Seeds is a reputed business group focused on providing turnkey greenfield manufacturing services to large consolidated multinational companies in the Agriculture sector. In this role, you will be responsible for building relationships with key players in the supply chain and contract manufacturing functions in these MNC companies to develop and grow the contract manufacturing vertical in the pesticides segment.
In India, pesticides are 2.2 billion $ market growing at 12% p.a and hence offers growth opportunities. PSPL is a market leader in Seeds Processing and relatively new to agrochemicals contract manufacturing. However our first agrochemical manufacturing venture with a US MNC in Kharagpur has been very successful, and we are keen to build on that success.
A number of seed companies also have agrochemicals businesses so it should be easy to develop some new business in this segment. Apart from this, there are a number of US and European companies in agriculture are looking to enter Indian market, and we could provide a good manufacturing platform.
In the role, you will need to meet some of these companies, understand their requirement and project a business plan. Some new relationships can be developed in conferences and industry meets. Typically a project once secured would deliver a revenue of 1-2 Million $ annually, so even 2 projects is significant. You’ll also get a chance to lead the implementation of the project once secured.
