Pre-Bid Meeting Held by MHI for Establishing Advanced Chemistry Cell Manufacturing Facilities

The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) organized a pre-bid gathering at IFCI Limited, signalling the initiation of the second phase of the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme for Advanced Chemistry Cells (ACC) aiming for a cumulative capacity of ten GWh PLI ACC.

The event attracted participation from various stakeholders in the industry and governmental bodies including NITI Aayog, Ministry of Power, MNRE, and the industry association IESA, indicating a significant stride towards enhancing India’s ACC manufacturing capabilities.

The pre-bid session was convened to prepare for an upcoming global tender soliciting proposals for the establishment of large-scale Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) manufacturing plants, totalling ten GWh capacity. The PLI ACC scheme, seeks to encourage the domestic manufacturing of technology-neutral ACCs, in line with its commitment to promoting innovation and self-sufficiency in the renewable energy domain.

As reported by ETEnergyworld.com, the ministry delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the scope and goals of the global tender for the ten GWh ACC capacity. Detailed explanations regarding technical requirements, eligibility standards, and the evaluation process were provided. Additionally, participants were informed that the deadline for receiving bidder queries is March 4, 2024.
