Premier Energies will invest ₹5,942 crore to set up a fully integrated solar manufacturing complex at the Naidupeta Industrial Park in Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh. The project will span 269 acres allotted by the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation. It will house a 4 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing line and a 5 GW silicon ingot and wafer plant, enabling full backward integration from wafer to module. The integrated setup will significantly strengthen India’s domestic solar value chain and reduce import dependence. The facility will generate around 3,500 direct jobs and support a large ecosystem of MSMEs engaged in component supply, logistics, and ancillary services.
State Policy and Logistics Drive Investment
Minister for IT Nara Lokesh announced the investment and credited Andhra Pradesh’s fast-track governance, investor-focused industrial policies, and port-led connectivity for enabling quick project execution. Discussions started in October 2024, and authorities finalized the land allocation by February 2025. Naidupeta’s proximity to major ports will accelerate construction timelines. Its robust industrial infrastructure will also reduce logistics costs for exports and domestic supply.
Renewable Energy Manufacturing Hub
The project forms part of Andhra Pradesh’s broader renewable manufacturing corridor strategy. It aimed at establishing the state as a national hub for next-generation photovoltaic technologies and green industrial growth. As reported by projectstoday.com, this investment strengthens Premier Energies’ position in the rapidly expanding solar manufacturing sector. It also advances Andhra Pradesh’s role in India’s clean energy transition.
