Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a petrochemical complex operated by Petronet LNG in Dahej, Gujarat. Valued at over ₹20,000 crore, the new petrochemical complex marks a significant expansion in India’s petrochemical sector, with a focus on enhancing hydrogen production and bolstering the supply of polypropylene.
As reported by siliconindia, with an investment exceeding ₹20,600 crore, the Dahej petrochemical complex incorporates facilities for handling ethane and propane. Its strategic proximity to an existing LNG regasification terminal is expected to result in considerable operational and capital expenditure savings.
