RCRS Innovations Limited (RCRSIL) is set to launch production of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) at a new manufacturing facility by August. Situated in Uttar Pradesh, the unit will initially have a capacity of one Gigawatt, focusing on manufacturing BESS units with storage capacities of 500 kilowatt (KW) and 1,000 kilowatt (1 Megawatt).
Currently, RCRSIL is engaged in the production and distribution of lithium-ion batteries under the brand name EXEGI, alongside energy storage systems and solar panels from its facilities located in the Delhi-NCR region. The company is one of India’s largest supplier of battery packs for solar lighting.
Aayush Goyal, MD and CEO of RCRS Innovations, emphasized that the demand for BESS is poised to surge in tandem with the expansion of renewable power in the overall energy generation mix. Goyal underscored the critical role of BESS in ensuring grid stability and providing uninterrupted power supply.
He further highlighted the anticipated escalation in demand for BESS at the consumer end, citing its potential as a substitute for diesel gensets and for storing power generated from off-grid solar units. As reported by ETEnergyworld.com, projections indicate that the Indian BESS market is anticipated to surpass ₹40,000 crore by 2029.
