Germany-based Rehau, a global player in polymer-based solutions, is expanding its manufacturing presence in India through its subsidiary Red Star Polymers, located in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The company has acquired 1.05 acres of industrial land adjacent to its existing facility, marking a strategic move to boost production capacity and streamline operations.
Enhancing Production Capabilities for PVC Edgebands
The expansion will enable Rehau to scale up infrastructure, optimize manufacturing processes, and increase output volumes. The key focus is on enhancing the production capabilities of Red Star Polymers, in which Rehau acquired a 51% controlling stake last year. The Indian firm is a specialist in PVC edgebands, essential components in furniture and interior design applications. The capacity ramp-up is already in progress, positioning the facility for increased efficiency and market responsiveness.
India as a Growth Engine for Asia-Pacific
The initiative reflects Rehau’s broader strategy. It aims to position India as a central hub for manufacturing and business development in the Asia-Pacific region. “This strategic expansion marks the next chapter in Rehau’s journey in India. It reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality polymer solutions and strengthens our local presence,” the company stated.
Long-Term Commitment through Land Lease Agreement
The land acquisition has been secured under a 99-year lease agreement, underlining Rehau’s long-term investment outlook in India. As reported by projectstoday.com, domestic demand for high-quality polymer solutions continues to grow. The company is preparing to scale operations and reinforce supply capabilities in one of the world’s fastest-growing markets.
