Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) bagged a 10 GWh of advanced chemistry cell (ACC) capacity under the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme for ACC battery storage. The allocation comes from a budget of ₹36.2 billion.
Out of seven companies that submitted bids, Reliance emerged as the winner following a selection process based on both quality and cost. Five other companies have been placed on a waitlist: ACME Cleantech Solutions Private Limited, Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies Private Limited, Waaree Energies Limited, JSW Neo Energy Limited, and Lucas TVS Limited.
As reported by renewablewatch.in, the PLI scheme, approved by the union cabinet in May 2021, aims to boost the manufacturing of ACC technology in India, with a goal of reaching a manufacturing capacity of 50 GW.
