Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) announced advancements in its new energy division, revealing that the company is working on heterojunction (HJT) bifacial solar panels that achieve 26% efficiency. The company aims to commercialize perovskite and HJT panels with interdigitated back-contact (IBC) technology within the next two years.
Production of photovoltaic (PV) modules is set to commence by the end of this year. Additionally, RIL is progressing with the initial phase of its comprehensive solar production facilities, which will encompass modules, cells, glass, wafers, ingots, and polysilicon, with a targeted annual capacity of 10 GW.
As reported by pv-magazine.com, the company plans to launch solar panels with cell efficiencies exceeding 26% and is focused on developing first-generation bifacial panels using domestically developed HJT technology with the same efficiency.
