Reliance Power bagged a contract from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to establish a 500 MW/1000 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The project, awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process, involves the installation of standalone BESS units under a build, own, and operate model for on demand power usage.

This marks Reliance Power’s foray into the renewable energy and storage sector. As reported by projectstoday.com, the company will be responsible for various tasks, including land identification, installation, obtaining necessary approvals, and connecting the system to the interstate transmission network.
