ReNew Chairman Appointed Co-Chair of Global Climate Action Alliance

ReNew, provider of renewable energy solutions, announced that Chairman and CEO, Sumant Sinha, has been appointed as the Co-Chair of the Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders, the world’s largest CEO-led climate coalition and a key initiative of the World Economic Forum (WEF).

Sinha will join a group of leaders from global companies, including Ester Baiget, CEO of Novonesis; Jesper Brodin, CEO of Ingka Group Ikea; Feike Sijbesma, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Royal Philips; and Rich Lesser, Global Chair of BCG and Alliance Chief Advisor.

As a member of the Alliance since 2019, ReNew is known for its dedication to net-zero goals and cutting-edge decarbonization solutions. The company is among the few in its industry to have set a science-based target aligned with a 1.5°C pathway, as validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), aiming for net-zero emissions by 2040.

Over the past two years, ReNew has managed to reduce carbon emissions by over 21 million tons. With an extensive portfolio of 21.4 GW (both contracted and in development), ReNew is positioned as a leading force in the global energy transition.
