ReSRL and ACL Collaborate to Revolutionise Plastic Recycling

Re Sustainability and Recycling Private Limited (ReSRL), a subsidiary of Re Sustainability Company (ReSL), has partnered with Aarti Circularity Limited (ACL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Aarti Industries Limited (AIL).

The joint venture (JVCo) marks a pioneering initiative in India to develop Plastic Materials Recycling Facilities (PMRFs).

The collaboration aims to revolutionize plastic resource recovery and drive sustainable waste management practices across the country.

Objectives of the Joint Venture

The PMRFs will focus on segregating, extracting, and recycling materials from diverse waste streams, particularly plastics.

The facilities will produce Advanced Circular Materials (ACM), which can be used as raw materials, fuels, or recycled polymer feedstock.

The partnership targets a minimum resource recovery capacity of approximately 500 tons per day by 2030. Additionally, the JVCo will explore various feedstocks, including those from ReSL’s core operations, to enhance material and energy circularity.

First Facility in Hyderabad

The first PMRF under this collaboration will be established in Hyderabad, Telangana.

The facility will introduce advanced recycling infrastructure to the region, setting a new standard for plastic waste management. It represents a significant milestone in India’s journey toward sustainable and responsible waste disposal.

Commitment to Innovation and Sustainability

The joint venture underscores a shared commitment to sustainability and technological innovation.

The JVCo will collaborate with leading technology partners. Together, they will develop and operate cutting-edge PMRFs. This initiative will establish new benchmarks in India’s recycling and waste management sectors.

Leadership Perspectives

Masood Mallick, Managing Director and CEO of Re Sustainability stated, “The collaboration is a key milestone in our mission to advance sustainable resource management. By combining our expertise in waste management and resource recovery with Aarti Industries’ 40 years of experience in specialty chemical manufacturing, we will develop state-of-the-art infrastructure to address critical waste challenges. Through advanced technologies and sustainable practices, we aim to minimize environmental impact while fostering economic growth and resource efficiency. Together, we will set a benchmark for sustainable development in India and beyond”.

Mirik Gogri, Director, Aarti Circularity Limited added, “This joint venture between ACL and ReSRL is a game-changer, leveraging the strengths of both companies to tackle pressing environmental challenges. By integrating innovation with sustainability, we aim to transform plastic recycling in India. This initiative aligns with ACL’s broader mission to foster a circular economy, reduce waste, minimize dependence on virgin resources, and mitigate environmental impact”.

New Era for Recycling in India

The collaboration between ReSRL and ACL represents a major step forward in India’s sustainability efforts.

With a focus on innovation, efficiency, and environmental responsibility, the JVCo will pave the way for a cleaner, greener future.

As per the press release, the development of PMRFs will not only improve waste management but also contribute to economic growth and resource optimization, reinforcing India’s leadership in circular economy initiatives.
