The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) initiated a review investigation concerning the anti-dumping duty (ADD) applied to aniline imports from China. The review follows a petition submitted by Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilisers & Chemicals (GNFC), which raised concerns that removing the duty could lead to increased dumping practices.

The investigation will analyze trade data from April 2023 to March 2024. The DGTR has urged all relevant parties to submit their responses within a week. The current anti-dumping duty on aniline imports from China is set to expire on July 28, 2025.

The review process will assess whether an extension or modification of the existing duty is necessary based on current market conditions and trade practices.

As reported by knnindia.co.in, aniline, an organic compound utilized in various industrial processes such as producing polyurethane, rubber chemicals, and dyes, has been subject to trade remedies to safeguard domestic manufacturers against unfair pricing strategies.
