SECI Granted Navratna Status by the Government

The Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI), a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) operating under the ministry of new and renewable energy, has secured Navratna status by the ministry of finance.

Marking its thirteenth year since inception, SECI stands as a premier CPSE committed to expanding India’s Renewable Energy (RE) capacity. The organization has awarded a cumulative generation capacity of 69.25 GW and oversees an annual power trading volume exceeding 42 billion units.

As the leading Renewable Energy Implementing Agency (REIA) in India, SECI plays a crucial role in advancing climate goals and promoting sustainable development.

Achieving Navratna status empowers SECI with greater autonomy in financial and operational decisions, which is expected to accelerate the company’s growth through increased agility, expanded geographical reach, and a stronger focus on technology.

As reported by pib.gov.in, the milestone highlights the Indian government’s ongoing commitment to the nation’s transition towards sustainable energy.
