Serentica Renewables announced a global call for expressions of interest (EOI) to develop Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) connected to interstate transmission systems. The goal is to provide 800 MWh of battery capacity for continuous green energy projects.
The brand is seeking technical partners with proven BESS solutions offering at least 200MW/400 MWh for two-hour storage and 100MW/400 MWh for four-hour storage. Additionally, the BESS provider must be at least fifty-one percent owned.
Serentica plans to secure BESS capacity from certain projects annually, starting in June 2026, as part of a twelve-year service agreement. The deadline for bid submissions is July 30, 2024, and interested parties should submit their bids through the designated channels.
Serentica is working on four gigawatts of projects and aims to commission two gigawatts of continuous renewable power for Indian industries each year.
As reported by manufacturingtodayindia.com, the brand anticipates that this portfolio will generate over nine billion units of clean energy annually, reducing CO2 emissions by 8.5 million tons per year. In the long term, Serentica aims to deliver more than 50 billion units of clean energy yearly, offsetting 47 million tons of CO2 emissions annually.
