Shakti Pumps Receives its Tenth Patent

Shakti Pumps was granted its tenth patent by the Patent Office of the Government of India, marking a significant advancement in fluid technology with the introduction of a surface helical pump. This patent, sanctioned under the guidelines of the Patents Act of 1970, is set to remain in effect for a duration of 20 years.

The innovation addresses a common challenge in centrifugal pumps, specifically in the context of reverse osmosis (RO) systems. By ensuring a consistent water flow even in the presence of blockages on the RO membrane, the ‘breakthrough design’ stands to enhance efficiency and reduce maintenance costs. Notably, the design minimises the frequency of membrane replacements, offering an economically appealing solution for the RO industry.

As reported by CNBC TV 18, the patented technology contributes to energy efficiency, not only resulting in cost savings but also aligning with environmental sustainability objectives. By diminishing the necessity for frequent membrane changes, the design not only enhances economic attractiveness but also aids in reducing the overall carbon footprint of the company.
