Shell Energy to Invest in Renewable Energy Facility in Gujarat

Shell Energy India has announced a substantial investment of ₹3,500 crore in Gujarat. This investment encompasses the establishment of various key infrastructure components. It includes a renewable energy facility, electric vehicle charging stations, and an LNG regasification terminal. The investment was formalised through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Shell Energy India and the Gujarat government, keeping in mind the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit scheduled for January 2024.

As reported by ThePrint, Shell Energy India will allocate ₹2,200 crore for the construction of a renewable energy production facility spanning 1,200 acres in the Banaskantha district of north Gujarat. Furthermore, an investment of ₹500 crore will be directed towards the LNG regasification terminal, as well as projects focused on asset integrity rejuvenation and debottlenecking.
