The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), a body under the ministry of power, has introduced a Standards and Labelling (S&L) program aimed at grid-connected solar inverters. This program anticipates saving approximately 21.1 billion kWh of energy and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 15.1 million tons between 2024-25 and 2033-34.

The initiative aims to empower consumers by providing them with information on the cost-effectiveness and energy efficiency of solar inverters, enabling them to make informed decisions. The initiative follows the successful implementation of similar standards for solar panels and is part of India’s committed efforts to achieve its renewable energy targets. As reported by ETEnergyworld.com, given the anticipated significant growth in the solar inverter market, this new S&L Program is expected to have a significant impact on India’s energy efficiency and sustainability objectives.
