Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy (SWREL) bagged significant order for the procurement, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 1,000 MWhr standalone battery energy storage (BESS) plant in Rajasthan, consisting of 500×2 units.
The project, expected to be completed by 2025, represents the largest BESS initiative in India to date and ranks among the largest single-location stationary GWhr projects globally.
As reported by projectstoday.com, SWREL has also bagged a contract for a 20 MW floating solar project in Karnataka from the same client. This marks the company’s third floating solar project in India. The combined value of these orders is approximately ₹328 crore.
