The Telangana government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Akshat Greentech, a subsidiary of Mytrah Energy, to establish a state-of-the-art solar cells and modules manufacturing facility in Hyderabad.
The agreement was finalized during the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Davos. It underscores the state’s focus on renewable energy growth.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu participated in the signing ceremony alongside Akshat Greentech Director Girish Gelli.
Thee collaboration highlights a shared vision for fostering clean energy and creating sustainable development opportunities.
Massive Investment in Renewable Energy
The facility will have a production capacity of 6.9 GW each for solar cells and modules. Akshat Greentech plans to invest ₹7,000 crore into the project, making it one of the largest renewable energy ventures in the state.
Supporting Clean Energy Goals
The development aligns with Telangana’s recently introduced Clean and Green Energy Policy. This policy aims to position the state as a leader in renewable energy.
By attracting major investments in clean technology, the policy seeks to promote sustainability and reduce the state’s carbon footprint.
Active Participation at WEF 2025
Indian states showcased many initiatives, including Telangana’s announcement. They presented these initiatives at the WEF 2025, held from January 20 to 24 in Davos-Klosters.
Alongside Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, Telangana has been actively engaging with global investors to secure investments across various sectors.
The MoU reflects Telangana’s proactive approach to strengthening its renewable energy sector and fostering economic development.
