thyssenkrupp Uhde, provider of chemical technology solutions, has secured a contract from Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. (GNFC) to build a new Weak Nitric Acid (WNA – III) plant in Bharuch, Gujarat. The project covers licensing, basic and detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up services.
Focus on Efficiency, Safety, and Sustainability
Designed with advanced thyssenkrupp Uhde technology, the plant will prioritize operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability. With a production capacity of 600 metric tons per day (MTPD), it will be one of India’s largest nitric acid facilities. Moreover, the plant will incorporate Uhde’s proven EnviNOx® technology, which efficiently reduces greenhouse gas emissions by eliminating nitrogen oxides from the production process.
Decades-Long Partnership with GNFC
thyssenkrupp Uhde and GNFC have collaborated for over 30 years, successfully executing several projects in the nitric acid sector. The company previously licensed GNFC’s WNA – I and WNA – II plants, and this long-standing relationship has fostered trust and technical excellence.
