The Union Cabinet approved India’s entry into the international energy efficiency Hub, a move expected to enhance the country’s participation in a sixteen member group focused on strategic energy initiatives and innovative solutions. The energy efficiency hub serves as a global platform aimed at fostering international cooperation and advancing energy efficiency efforts worldwide.

As a member, India will have the opportunity to collaborate with other nations, exchange knowledge, and adopt global best practices in energy efficiency. The entry will also bolster India’s contributions to addressing climate change by promoting energy-efficient technologies and practices.

Founded in 2020, the energy efficiency hub succeeded the International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation (IPEEC), of which India was also a participant. The hub brings together governments, international organizations, and private sector leaders to exchange expertise, best practices, and innovative approaches.

As reported by ndtv.com, the hub’s members include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, the European Commission, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
