Union minister of chemicals and fertilizers, Jagat Prakash Nadda, along with minister of state Anupriya Patel, conducted a comprehensive review of the department of chemicals and petrochemicals.
The minister stressed on the importance of a developed India by 2047, emphasizing the achievement of the departments hundred day agenda. Key areas highlighted included industry facilitation, export promotion, and enhancing skill-training initiatives.
The secretary of the department provided an overview of the current trade landscape and future projections for the chemical sector over the next five years. Additionally, updates on ongoing departmental schemes, the performance of public sector undertakings (PSUs), and autonomous bodies under the department’s jurisdiction were discussed.
The minister instructed the officials to reduce unnecessary imports and boost exports. He stressed the importance of enhancing speed, scale, and skill in the chemical and petrochemical sectors.
