VATech Wabag, a water technology company, bagged contract worth around ₹85 crore from Nama Water Services in Oman. The contract entails the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the Al Duqm Desalination Plant over the next five years.

The Al Duqm Desalination Plant, originally built by VATech Wabag over ten years ago, has a daily capacity of eight million litres. Until 2018, the company was responsible for its O&M. The water produced by the plant will be supplied for domestic use in the Duqm and Haima regions of the Al Wusta Governorate in Oman.

VATech Wabag provides a wide array of technologies and services for water solutions across both municipal and industrial sectors and operates in twenty-five countries across four continents. The brand has constructed more than 1,400 municipal and industrial plants worldwide.

As reported by TRIMFEED, the contract underscores the critical role water technology companies play in delivering essential services to communities globally. Effective operation and maintenance of desalination plants like Al Duqm can significantly enhance the quality of life and drive economic development in regions such as Oman.
