Vedanta Nico signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aesir Technologies, an innovative US based company specializing in advanced battery technologies. The collaboration aims to develop and market high-performance nickel-zinc (NiZn) batteries.
Under the terms of the MoU, Vedanta Nico will provide nickel to Aesir Technologies for their next-generation batteries. The NiZn batteries are expected to offer higher energy density compared to existing technologies. As reported by manufacturingtodayindia.com, the global demand for nickel in batteries is projected to increase from 1,50,000 tons in 2020 to 5,00,000 tons by 2025.
