Vedanta Resources to Set up Industrial Parks for Aluminium, Zinc and Silver

Vedanta Resources planning to set up two not-for-profit industrial parks, one for aluminium and the other for zinc and silver. The company is also exploring the possibility of developing similar parks for the oil and gas, and iron and steel sectors. As the anchor industry, Vedanta will ensure a steady supply of raw materials and energy, with a focus on renewable sources.

The parks are expected to attract entrepreneurs to set up numerous downstream industries and related enterprises. By establishing the industrial parks, Vedanta aims to enhance manufacturing competitiveness and reduce raw material transportation costs.

The parks are anticipated to foster scalability across various sectors and the entire value chain, with townships and other facilities likely to develop around these clusters.

As reported by projectstoday.com, Vedanta Resources operates an aluminium park in Jharsuguda, Odisha, which includes an aluminium smelter and power plants. The park is poised to attract downstream industries, further strengthening the aluminium ecosystem in the region.
