Waaree Solar Americas Inc., a subsidiary of Indian solar manufacturer Waaree Energies Ltd, has initiated trial production of solar modules at its new manufacturing facility in Brookshire, Texas.
This marks a significant milestone as Waaree becomes the first Indian company to establish a photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing unit in the United States.
1.6 GW Capacity Ready for Full Commissioning
The Brookshire facility is currently in its trial production phase. Plans are in place to fully commission its Phase-1 manufacturing capacity of 1.6 GW in the coming months.
The strategic move aims to enhance Waaree’s global manufacturing footprint. It also supports the growing demand for solar energy solutions in the U.S.

DC Manjunath, Consul General of India in Houston remarked, “The India-US economic and energy partnership is thriving as both democracies are natural partners. Waaree, through its Brookshire facility, is playing a key role in strengthening this relationship”.

Waaree Energies operates with an installed capacity of 13.3 GW for solar PV modules. This includes 1.3 GW acquired from Indosolar.
