Waaree Energies Bags Solar Module Supply Contract from GIPCL

Waaree Energies Ltd., manufacturer of solar PV modules with a total installed capacity of 12 GW received Letter of Intent (LOI) from Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited (GIPCL) for the supply of 400 MW of solar modules. The modules will be used in a 2,375 MW renewable energy park located near Village Khavda in the Great Rann of Kutch, Gujarat, featuring state-of-the-art bifacial technology.

Waaree will produce, test, package, and deliver the high-tech solar PV modules. Each module will adhere to the Approved List of Modules and Manufacturers (ALMM) category norms and will have a capacity between 540 Wp to 570 Wp, designed to achieve high efficiency, durability, and performance.

Hitesh Chimanlal Doshi, Chairman and Managing Director, Waaree Energies Ltd., mentioned that the partnership is a landmark in India’s renewable energy expansion. He also noted that the project highlighted the company’s commitment to enhance local manufacturing, boost job creation, and support India’s ambitious renewable energy goals while maintaining the highest quality standards.

As reported by ManufacturingToday, the deal includes the supply of 400 MWp of bifacial solar PV modules along with an additional 0.5% (2 MW) in mandatory spares, underlining the reliability of Waaree’s products. The partnership is set to strengthen Waaree Energies’ role in the Indian renewable energy landscape, furthering national objectives of energy security and environmental sustainability.
