Waaree Energies has become the first Indian solar panel manufacturer to publish independently verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for its bifacial mono PERC and TOPCon solar panels.
These EPDs, certified under the international EPD System, demonstrate the company’s commitment to reducing environmental impacts through advanced technology and sustainable practices.
Certification Highlights Environmental Responsibility
The EPDs, backed by comprehensive Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) conducted by Sphera Solutions, provide a detailed analysis of the environmental footprint of Waaree’s mono PERC and TOPCon solar panels.
The assessments cover the entire life cycle of the panels—from raw material extraction to end-of-life disposal – ensuring transparency and accountability in Waaree’s environmental impact.
Ultra-Low-Carbon Products
Waaree’s bifacial TOPCon panels, with an efficiency of 22.03% and a power rating of 600Wp, stand out as ultra-low-carbon products.
The panels have an impressively low carbon footprint of just 0.368 kg CO₂ eq./Wp.
Waaree’s mono PERC panels offer a 21.36% efficiency and a power rating of 550Wp. In addition, they demonstrate a commendable carbon footprint of 0.447 kg CO₂ eq./Wp.
CEO Emphasizes Sustainability
Amit Paithankar, CEO, Waaree Energies stated, “Our EPDs set a new benchmark for sustainability in the renewable energy sector. By combining cutting-edge technology with sustainable practices, we empower stakeholders to make informed decisions for a low-carbon future”.
A Strong Commitment to Sustainability
Waaree Energies is a leader in the renewable energy sector. It has an installed capacity of 13.3 GW for solar PV modules. This includes 1.3 GW from its Indosolar facilities.
As reported by pv-magazine-india.com, the publication of these EPDs further reinforces Waaree’s position as a pioneer in sustainable energy solutions.
