WABAG Bags O&M Contract for BAPCO Refinery Wastewater Treatment

VA TECH WABAG (WABAG), a global player in the water technology sector, has successfully secured a seven-year operations and maintenance (O&M) contract valued at approximately ₹121 crore from BAPCO Refining B.S.C.

The contract focuses on the Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant (IWTP) located at the BAPCO Refinery in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Innovative Water Treatment Technology

The IWTP is designed to treat 4,400 US gallons of wastewater per minute, utilizing advanced Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) technology. This ensures that the treated water meets stringent environmental and industrial standards, reinforcing WABAG’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in water treatment.

Strengthening Regional Presence

The contract enhances WABAG’s foothold in Bahrain, a region where the company has already been managing the 40 MLD Madinat Salman Sewage Treatment Plant since November 2018.

Through this deal, WABAG further solidifies its expertise in managing large-scale water treatment operations in the Middle East.
