
Gasgrid Finland Oy, Finliand’s gas transmission system operator, has awarded Worley a four-year framework agreement to deliver Owner’s Engineering (OE) services.
The hydrogen pipeline project will extend beyond Finland to cover infrastructure in the Baltic Sea region and Sweden. Worley will provide engineering and construction support for the pipeline system in Finland until 2028, with an option to extend services until 2032.
Ensuring High-Quality Engineering and Construction
Worley will advise Gasgrid to ensure that the onshore pipeline projects meet the highest standards in engineering and construction.
The company’s Owner’s Engineer (OE) services will be delivered primarily from its offices in the Netherlands and Finland. Additional support will come from the Global Integrated Delivery (GID) team in India.

Jelle Nederstigt, President of Europe and Central Asia at Worley, highlighted Finland’s commitment to building a fully integrated hydrogen economy, a key aspect of the global energy transition. Gasgrid aims to accelerate the development of Finland’s hydrogen economy and attract renewable energy investments. “Our strategy focuses on maximizing the economic benefits of the hydrogen economy,” said Esa Hallivuori, Senior Vice President of Infrastructure Projects at Gasgrid.
Hallivuori added, “We commit to fostering high-value investments, strengthening the technology and service sectors, and advancing EU hydrogen markets.”

According to the press release, Hallivuori emphasized the importance of collaborating with Worley. He stated that through this partnership, Gasgrid aims for long-term cooperation to drive strategic project development and infrastructure investments.
