OQ Chemicals Launches Sustainable Synthetic Lubricant Ester

Global chemical company OQ Chemicals has unveiled OxReduce L7-NPG, a biobalanced, low-viscosity synthetic lubricant ester designed to lower carbon emissions.

Developed under the ISCC PLUS certification, this innovative product serves as a bio-circular alternative to the fossil-based Oxlube L7-NPG. It is derived from renewable, palm oil-free feedstocks, with up to 84% of its carbon content sourced sustainably.

OxReduce L7-NPG is engineered for applications such as automotive lubricants, metalworking, and energy-efficient cooling systems.

Its low viscosity, high flash point, and non-toxic formulation provide an eco-friendly option while meeting strict regulatory standards, including compliance with the Vessel General Permit (VGP) for marine use.

The product supports OEMs in achieving their CO2 reduction targets without compromising on performance.

“Our certified biobalanced products, such as OxReduce L7-NPG, enable customers to enhance their sustainability efforts. They also help meet regulatory requirements while maintaining high performance,” said Dr. Claudia Fischer, Director of Global Business Development, OQ Chemicals.

As reported by fuelsandlubes.com, the new offering complements OQ Chemicals’ Oxlube L7-NPG product line.

The product line is already recognised on the Lubricant Substance Classification (LuSC) list. It also positions the company to pursue EU Ecolabel certification as an environmentally acceptable lubricant (EAL).

With its sustainable design and advanced performance characteristics, OxReduce L7-NPG represents a significant step forward in reducing environmental impact and meeting the evolving demands of industries worldwide.
