Anupam Rasayan Signs LOI for Electrolyte Salt Supply

Anupam Rasayan India Ltd., a custom synthesis and specialty chemicals manufacturer, has taken a major step toward entering the lithium-ion battery chemicals segment. The company has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with E-Lyte Innovations GmbH, a European developer of advanced electrolyte solutions, and FUCHS LUBRICANTS GERMANY GmbH, a subsidiary of FUCHS SE known for innovative lubrication technologies. The agreement marks Anupam Rasayan’s strategic entry into the growing battery value chain in Europe, paving the way for long-term collaboration with leading global players in the energy storage sector.

Key Terms of the LOI

The LOI sets the stage for negotiating a five-year supply agreement, with commercial deliveries expected to begin as early as FY 2026–2027. Under the proposed agreement, Anupam Rasayan will supply up to 1,500 tons per annum (TPA) of Lithium Hexafluorophosphate (LiPF₆). This compound is a crucial electrolyte salt used in lithium-ion batteries. Final terms remain subject to standard conditions and mutual agreement.

Strengthening Strategic Capabilities

Anand Desai, Managing Director, Anupam Rasayan, commented, “The partnership with E-Lyte and FUCHS LUBRICANTS GERMANY is a major step in our journey to diversify into the energy storage segment. The LOI lays the groundwork for a long-term, strategic relationship focused on delivering high-quality and cost-effective electrolyte salts.”

Desai highlighted that Anupam Rasayan’s proven process optimization capabilities played a key role in securing the agreement. He also noted that the company’s supply chain security was another critical factor. Backward integration in fluorine chemistry through its subsidiary, Tanfac Industries Ltd., enables this.

“We’ll be among the first in India to manufacture this molecule commercially, positioning us strongly within the battery ecosystem,” he added. “This is just one of several battery-related products under development, with more customer agreements in the pipeline,” he further mentioned.

Partners in Innovation

E-Lyte Innovations has been backed by FUCHS since 2022, as a minority shareholder and strategic partner. The company is leading innovation in electrolyte development for e-mobility and energy storage systems. The company focuses on delivering next-generation liquid electrolytes tailored for lithium-ion, sodium-ion, and future battery technologies.

Dr. Ralf Wagner of E-Lyte welcomed added, “Sourcing critical electrolyte components of the highest quality and at stable prices is essential for our success. Partnering with Anupam Rasayan ensures reliable, future-proof production of our battery solutions. Their experience and technical capabilities make them an ideal potential supplier.”

Powering a Greener Future

With this LOI, Anupam Rasayan advances its mission to support clean energy and e-mobility innovation. It aims to achieve this through domestic manufacturing of advanced battery materials. As per the press release, the collaboration strengthens the global value chain. It also reinforces India’s role as a key supplier of next-generation energy solutions.
