Sai Life Sciences, a contract research, development, and manufacturing organization (CRDMO), has completed Phase II of its Production Block 11 (PB-11) at the flagship API manufacturing facility in Bidar (Unit IV), Karnataka. The milestone significantly strengthens the company’s large-scale manufacturing capabilities to meet growing global demand.

PB-11 Becomes the Largest Single Reactor Volume Block

With the addition of 91 KL in Q1 FY26, the total capacity of PB-11 now stands at 200 KL, making it the largest single reactor volume block at the Bidar site. The expansion pushes the facility’s overall installed reactor capacity to 700 KL, further reinforcing its ability to handle complex, large-scale projects.

“This expansion at Bidar is more than additional capacity — it is about giving our partners the confidence that we can scale with their needs, deliver reliably, and adapt to the increasing complexity of their programs,” said Krishna Kanumuri, CEO and Managing Director of Sai Life Sciences.

Designed for Large-Scale, Multi-Purpose Production

PB-11 is a multi-purpose production block engineered for the commercial-scale manufacturing of APIs. The Bidar Unit IV is one of Sai Life Sciences’ most advanced facilities, featuring:

*12 production blocks

*High-potency API capabilities

*Advanced QC laboratories

*Specialized processes such as lyophilization, cryogenic, and high-pressure reactions

Global Quality Compliance and Customer Confidence

As reported by projectstoday.com, the Bidar facility holds approvals from USFDA, PMDA (Japan), and CDSCO (India), underscoring its commitment to global regulatory standards. Since 2022, more than 75 customer audits have validated Sai Life Sciences’ quality systems and compliance excellence, reinforcing the company’s reputation as a trusted CRDMO partner.
