Akash Tripathi has taken over as the Managing Director (MD) of Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). His appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
Leadership Structure Formalized
SECI announced that Santosh Sarangi, IAS and Secretary, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), will continue as Chairman of the organization.
“Tripathi’s appointment brings dedicated leadership for execution at scale, tighter institutional coordination, and delivery across emerging priorities like green hydrogen, energy storage, and green energy projects,” said Santosh Sarangi.
Driving India’s Renewable Energy Mission
Under the MNRE, SECI serves as the nodal agency for implementing national renewable energy programs. Its responsibilities include competitive bidding and project execution for:
*Solar and wind energy
*Hybrid energy projects
*Energy storage solutions
*Offshore wind projects
*Green hydrogen initiatives
