The scientific community in Northeast India is celebrating a momentous achievement as three faculty members of The Assam Royal Global University (RGU) have been featured among the World’s Top 2% Scientists for 2025, as ranked by Stanford University, USA. The prestigious list, published on 19 September 2025, highlights researchers making significant global contributions across diverse scientific disciplines.
Celebrating RGU’s Distinguished Scientists
The three eminent scientists from RGU who earned this global recognition are:
*Professor (Dr) Amlan Das, Department of Microbiology and Associate Dean, Research and Development
*Dr. Faizuddin Ahmed, Assistant Professor (Research), Department of Physics
*Dr. Mukta Agrawal, Assistant Professor, Royal School of Pharmacy
Notably, Stanford has named Dr. Faizuddin Ahmed to its Top 2% list for the sixth consecutive year, and Dr. Mukta Agrawal has earned this distinction for the fourth consecutive year — underscoring their sustained excellence in research and innovation.
Advancing Frontiers in Physics, Pharmacy, and Microbiology
Dr. Faizuddin Ahmed is widely recognized for his pioneering work in Theoretical Physics. He has a special focus on the General Theory of Relativity. Over his distinguished career, he published more than 225 research papers in leading Scopus-indexed journals, significantly advancing the field and shaping global scientific discourse.
Dr. Mukta Agrawal specializes in Novel Drug Delivery Systems, Nanoparticles, Brain Targeting, and Nose-to-Brain Drug Delivery aimed at treating Alzheimer’s disease. Her groundbreaking research on lipid-based nanocarriers and innovative in-situ gelling systems has garnered widespread national and international recognition.
Prof. Amlan Das focuses his research on antimicrobial resistance and cancer management. He completed postdoctoral studies in Cancer Biology at The Ohio State University and the VA Medical Center, USA, and authored over 50 research articles in highly respected peer-reviewed journals.
