Kirloskar Brothers Limited (KBL) has reached a major milestone with its pump test laboratory in Kirloskarvadi, Maharashtra, securing approval under the Hydraulic Institute’s (HI) Pump Test Lab Approval Program. This recognition reinforces the company’s strong commitment to high-quality engineering and globally accepted testing standards.
Aligning with Global Standards
As reported by worldpumps.com, the HI approval program helps pump original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and independent laboratories strengthen their testing procedures. It also ensures alignment with the international accreditation standard ISO 17025. By partnering with third-party auditors, participants can verify that their testing methods are accurate and consistent. This ensures full compliance with industry benchmarks, including HI 40.6.
Supporting Efficiency Regulations
The accreditation comes at a crucial time. The US Department of Energy (DOE) continues to push for higher efficiency standards for commercial and industrial pumps. Testing pumps in an independently verified laboratory builds customer confidence. It ensures that performance claims are transparent, reliable, and validated.
Strengthening India’s Engineering Reputation
Sanjay Kirloskar, Chairman and Managing Director of KBL, highlighted, “We are pleased that KBL continues to set benchmarks in the Indian pump industry with the Hydraulic Institute’s approval for an extensive range of pumps. It reflects our unwavering commitment to engineering excellence and global quality standards. This recognition not only strengthens trust in KBL’s capabilities but also showcases India’s growing stature in high-end manufacturing on the world stage.”
