Himadri Initiates Talks with Global Buyers for Lithium-Ion Battery Components

Himadri Speciality Chemical initiated discussions with prospective global buyers as it prepares to commission its proposed ₹1,130-crore lithium-ion battery materials plant in Odisha by the end of this year. The move signals the company’s intent to scale its presence in the fast-growing global electric mobility and energy storage markets.

Odisha Facility to Produce Key EV Battery Material

The upcoming Odisha facility will manufacture lithium iron phosphate (LFP), a critical cathode material used in lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles. As demand for safer and cost-effective battery chemistries rises worldwide, LFP has emerged as a preferred material across multiple markets.

Samples Sent to Global Lithium-Ion Cell Manufacturers

As reported by thehindubusinessline.com, the company has begun engaging potential customers both in India and overseas. According to Anurag Choudhary, CMD and CEO of Himadri Speciality Chemical, the company has started supplying product samples to prospective buyers. “We have initiated discussions with lithium-ion battery component buyers in India and abroad and have begun sending them product samples. These potential customers include lithium-ion cell manufacturers based in the US, South Korea, and other global markets,” Choudhary confirmed.
