Amarak Chemicals FZC, an associate company of the Aries Group of Companies, has commenced operations at a fully automated sulphur manufacturing facility in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), Dubai. With this commissioning, the company aims to strengthen global supply of sulphur-based agricultural inputs while leveraging Jebel Ali’s integrated logistics ecosystem.
60,000 Tons Per Year Capacity to Serve Global Agriculture
The facility will manufacture up to 60,000 metric tons per year of sulphur bentonite and allied sulphur products. These inputs play a critical role in improving soil health, enhancing crop productivity, and supporting sustainable farming practices worldwide.
Importantly, the plant operates on a fully automated platform. It integrates advanced digital process controls to enhance:
*Production efficiency
*Precision in formulation
*Operator safety
*Quality consistency
As a result, Amarak can deliver reliable, high-quality sulphur products to farmers and agribusinesses across international markets.
Strategic Location at Jafza Enhances Logistics and Market Reach
By establishing its facility at Jafza, Amarak benefits from one of the region’s most advanced trade and logistics hubs. The zone’s connectivity significantly reduces transit times and optimises supply chain efficiency.G. Krishnan, Consul (Economic, Trade and Commerce), Consulate General of India, Dubai, formally opened the facility in the presence of Saoud AlAwadhi, Director – Sales, Jafza, and the Board of Directors of the Aries Group. The event welcomed customers from seven countries. Notably, several expressed intent to sign long-term supply contracts, underscoring strong global demand for sulphur-based fertilisers.
Strengthening Jafza’s Chemicals and Agribusiness Hub
Abdulla Al Hashmi, COO, Parks & Zones, DP World GCC, highlighted Jafza’s growing prominence in chemicals and agribusiness. According to DP World GCC leadership, the new sulphur manufacturing facility enhances Jafza’s ability to serve regional and international customers. Furthermore, improved access to essential agricultural inputs will help strengthen food supply chains across multiple geographies. The project reinforces Jafza’s position at the centre of regional trade and industry.
Expanding Global Exports Across 18 Plus Countries
Currently, Amarak exports sulphur products from the UAE to more than 18 countries, including Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand. With the new facility operational, the company can now scale output and respond more effectively to rising global demand. Moreover, the plant enhances supply chain reliability by centralising production in a strategically connected hub.
Leveraging the India-UAE CEPA Advantage
The project also aligns with the benefits of the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Under this agreement, Amarak can manufacture in the UAE and export duty-free to India, while simultaneously serving other global markets from a single production base. Therefore, the Jafza facility not only boosts capacity but also improves cost competitiveness in key markets.
Leadership Perspective: Building a Global Fertiliser Brand
Dr. Rahul Mirchandani, Group Chairman of the Aries Group of Companies, described the investment as part of a long-term strategy to build world-class manufacturing capabilities in agricultural inputs. He emphasised that combining Indian process expertise with the UAE’s enabling infrastructure creates a powerful platform to serve farmers worldwide. Additionally, he noted that Jafza reduces logistics costs, accelerates speed to market, and improves access to key geographies—making it ideal for Amarak’s next growth phase.
Securing Raw Materials and Strengthening Industrial Ties
To ensure supply continuity, Amarak has established long-term partnerships with leading sulphur suppliers in the UAE. This guarantees:
*Raw material security
*Consistent product quality
*Reliable production cycles
Overall, the project reflects growing India-UAE industrial collaboration. By merging Indian manufacturing excellence with the UAE’s logistics and infrastructure strengths, Amarak Chemicals is positioning itself as a preferred global supplier of high-quality sulphur fertilisers. As reported by mediaoffice.ae, as global agriculture increasingly prioritises soil health and sustainability, the Dubai-based facility marks a significant step in meeting the world’s evolving fertiliser needs.
