Godrej Industries Group Announces Leadership Transitions

Godrej Industries Limited, along with Godrej Agrovet Limited and Astec LifeSciences Limited, has unveiled a series of leadership changes as part of a planned generational transition. The move signals a strategic shift aimed at ensuring continuity while preparing the Group for its next phase of growth.

Nadir Godrej to Transition to Chairman Emeritus

As part of the succession plan, Nadir Godrej, Chairperson of the Godrej Industries Group, will retire upon turning 75 in August 2026. Subsequently, he will assume the role of Chairman Emeritus. In addition, he will step down from the boards of Godrej Industries Limited, Godrej Agrovet, Godrej Consumer Products, and Godrej Properties. Earlier, he also stepped down as Chairperson and Non-Executive Director of Astec LifeSciences, effective April 13, 2026.

Over several decades, Nadir Godrej has played a transformative role in shaping the Group’s growth, strengthening its values, and expanding its global presence. Reflecting on his journey, he expressed confidence that the next generation will continue to build on this strong foundation while staying true to the Group’s core principles.

Pirojsha Godrej to Take Over as Chairperson

Looking ahead, Pirojsha Godrej, currently Chairperson Designate, will formally assume the role of Chairperson of the Godrej Industries Group and Godrej Industries Limited from August 14, 2026. He will continue to lead Godrej Properties, Godrej Capital, and Godrej Ventures. He described this transition as both a responsibility and a privilege, emphasizing the importance of building on the Group’s legacy with ambition while remaining anchored in its long-standing values.

Burjis Godrej to Lead Godrej Agrovet

Burjis Godrej will step into the role of Chairperson of Godrej Agrovet and will join the board of Godrej Industries Limited as a Non-Executive Director, effective August 14, 2026. At the same time, he has stepped down as Managing Director of Astec LifeSciences and will continue to contribute as a Non-Executive Director on its board. He highlighted his focus on strengthening Godrej Agrovet by driving sustainable growth and improving execution across its businesses.

New Leadership at Astec LifeSciences Limited

Vishal Sharma, CEO of Godrej Chemicals, has been appointed Chairperson of Astec LifeSciences with immediate effect. Arijit Mukherjee, currently Chief Operating Officer, will take on the role of Executive Director. These appointments are expected to ensure operational continuity while strengthening leadership depth within the company.
