Trelleborg Sealing Solutions India announced the development of a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Bengaluru. The greenfield investment is set to boost the company’s production capacity by 30%, reinforcing its long-term commitment to India as a key manufacturing and innovation hub.
Strategic Location and Integrated Capabilities
Strategically located on Kanakapura Main Road in Kaggalahalli village, the campus will span 50,000 square meters (540,000 sq ft) and is scheduled for completion in 2027. Notably, the facility will bring together multiple capabilities under one roof for the first time. These include manufacturing, research and development (R&D), advanced testing, application engineering, a customer solutions center, supply chain operations, and global IT services. As a result, the company aims to enhance collaboration, streamline operations, and improve customer responsiveness.
Building on Two Decades of Growth in India
Trelleborg established its first manufacturing facility in Bengaluru in 2005. Since then, the company has consistently expanded its footprint, supported by strong engineering expertise, increasing localization, and growing demand across global markets. India’s rising importance in global supply chains has strengthened the company’s decision to scale up operations in the region.
Advanced Manufacturing for Diverse Industries
The campus will include 30,000 square meters of built-up space dedicated to advanced manufacturing. It will produce a wide range of sealing solutions, including polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) products, rotary shaft seals, mechanical face seals and Polyurethane (PU) components. These products cater to industries such as aerospace, automotive, agriculture, construction, defense, industrial automation, oil and gas, railways, and semiconductors. The facility positions Trelleborg among a select group of multinational companies capable of delivering a broad product portfolio locally while serving global markets.
Strengthening R&D and Innovation Capabilities
In addition to manufacturing, the campus will feature a dedicated R&D center. This advanced hub will include a fully equipped materials laboratory and a testing and technology lab. By enabling detailed analysis, product validation, and faster development cycles, the facility will provide high-quality, rapid support to customers. Moreover, it aligns with the company’s strategic focus on innovation-driven growth.
Compliance with Global Standards
To ensure world-class quality and safety, the facility will operate under internationally recognized certifications, including AS/EN 9100 (aerospace), IATF 16949 (automotive), ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management) and ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety). The plant will meet stringent global compliance requirements across multiple industries.

The campus is being developed with a green-building philosophy. It aims to set benchmarks in energy efficiency, environmental impact reduction, and workplace safety.
