Thyssenkrupp Uhde bagged a key contract from Brunei Fertilizer Industries Sdn Bhd (BFI) to execute the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) for the expansion of its ammonia handling and export infrastructure. The project marks a significant step in enhancing BFI’s capacity to serve global markets.
Expanding Ammonia Storage and Export Capabilities
Under the scope of the project, thyssenkrupp Uhde will design:
*A new cryogenic ammonia storage tank
*A dedicated ammonia export facility
*Integrated jetty and ship-loading systems for large-scale exports
As a result, the expansion will enable BFI to efficiently handle and export ammonia to international markets, strengthening its global supply capabilities.

The contract further reinforces the strategic relationship between thyssenkrupp Uhde and BFI. Previously, Uhde played a crucial role in delivering technology and engineering services for BFI’s large-scale ammonia and urea complex—one of Southeast Asia’s most advanced fertilizer plants.
