SolarEdge Technologies announced the launch of its new India Development Center (IDC) in East Bengaluru, further expanding the company’s global research and development footprint. The R&D campus is strategically located in one of India’s leading technology and engineering hubs and reflects SolarEdge’s growing investment in innovation, engineering talent and next-generation smart energy technologies.
R&D Center to Boost Global Innovation
With the inauguration of the facility, SolarEdge aims to strengthen its global product development capabilities while enhancing collaboration across its international R&D network. The company stated that the Bengaluru center will play a key role in developing advanced power electronics and smart energy solutions designed for global solar and energy storage markets. In addition, the expansion will help SolarEdge access India’s strong engineering talent pool and advanced technology expertise.
SolarEdge Plans Major Engineering Talent Expansion
As part of the expansion strategy, SolarEdge plans to recruit engineers across multiple technical disciplines and experience levels. The company will focus on hiring professionals in areas such as embedded power electronics, embedded control systems, hardware design, mechanical engineering and integration testing. This recruitment drive is expected to significantly strengthen SolarEdge’s engineering and innovation capabilities worldwide.

With this new R&D and Technology Center, we are investing not only in infrastructure but also in talent and innovation that will support the next phase of solar growth in India and globally,” he noted.

SolarEdge already maintains a strong presence in India’s photovoltaic (PV) market through its residential and commercial solar solutions, battery storage systems and customer support operations based in Bengaluru. The company’s product portfolio includes solar inverters, power optimizers, energy storage systems and cloud based monitoring platforms. These solutions support residential, commercial and small utility-scale solar installations across multiple markets.
