Trontek Electronics, an Indian energy technology company, is expanding into Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with a Made-in-India portfolio designed for residential, commercial and industrial (C&I), industrial and utility-scale applications. The expansion marks the next phase of Trontek’s growth, building on more than two decades of experience in battery technology, electric mobility, charging infrastructure and energy solutions. The company aims to achieve 12 GWh of annual BESS manufacturing capacity by 2028, positioning itself to serve growing demand across commercial, industrial and utility-scale energy storage markets.

Expanding Energy Storage Capabilities in India

As India accelerates its transition towards renewable energy and electrification, energy storage is becoming increasingly important for balancing electricity supply and demand. Battery Energy Storage Systems can help improve renewable energy integration, optimise power consumption and enhance grid flexibility. Against this backdrop, Trontek is developing solutions to meet a broad range of energy storage requirements, from residential energy management and commercial power optimisation to industrial operations and utility-scale applications.

Samrath S. Kochar, Founder and CEO of Trontek, said, “The next energy revolution will not be about generating more power, but about making energy more intelligent, flexible and accessible. As mobility, homes, industry and the grid converge, storage will become a defining layer of the new energy economy. BESS is the next evolution of Trontek’s two-decade journey in battery and energy technology — taking our expertise from powering applications to enabling energy systems at scale, built in India for the opportunities ahead. India has the opportunity to build globally competitive energy storage capabilities. Trontek intends to help shape that future.”

BESS Portfolio Covers Residential to Utility-Scale Applications

Trontek is introducing a multi-application BESS portfolio with capacities ranging from 215 kWh to 5 MWh. The solutions target different energy storage requirements across residential, commercial, industrial and utility markets. Trontek’s modular residential storage solutions are designed to support renewable energy utilisation, household energy management and power resilience. These systems can help consumers manage energy requirements more efficiently.

Commercial and Industrial Energy Storage

The company’s 215 kWh-class BESS solutions target commercial and industrial applications, including hotels, offices and small and medium-sized manufacturing facilities. These systems are designed to support demand management, energy optimisation and power reliability. For larger facilities, Trontek offers 418 kWh-class systems designed for factories, warehouses, hospitals and industrial campuses. These solutions aim to support larger energy loads and improve operational power management.

Utility and Grid-Scale Energy Storage

At the utility scale, Trontek’s 5 MWh BESS solutions target industrial parks, utilities and large solar-plus-storage projects. These systems are designed to support renewable energy integration and enhance grid flexibility. With its expanding BESS portfolio and planned manufacturing capacity of 12 GWh annually by 2028, Trontek aims to address energy storage demand across the energy ecosystem. As per the press release, by combining its established battery technology experience with solutions for applications of different scales, the company is positioning itself to participate in India’s growing energy storage market and support the wider adoption of renewable energy.
