Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), through its Institute of Reservoir Studies (IRS) in Ahmedabad, hosted two specialised knowledge-exchange programmes for professionals from PetroVietnam. The initiatives aim to strengthen technical cooperation and reinforce the longstanding energy partnership between India and Vietnam. The programmes covered Reservoir Management and Production Enhancement and Declaration of Commerciality (DoC) and Field Development Plan (FDP) – Reserve to Revenue. By combining technical discussions, laboratory exposure and field visits, ONGC provided participants with opportunities to exchange expertise and gain practical insights into the oil and gas industry.
Focus on Reservoir Management and Production Enhancement
The first programme focused on reservoir management and production enhancement, key areas for improving hydrocarbon recovery and maximising the performance of oil and gas assets. Through technical sessions and practical exposure, participants explored specialised industry knowledge and exchanged professional insights into reservoir-related challenges and production improvement strategies.
Field Development Planning: From Reserves to Revenue
The second programme addressed Declaration of Commerciality (DoC) and Field Development Plan (FDP) – Reserve to Revenue. These areas play an important role in evaluating hydrocarbon resources and translating reserves into commercially viable production. The programme provided a platform for participants to discuss technical aspects of field development planning and share knowledge relevant to the efficient development of oil and gas resources.
Strengthening India–Vietnam Energy Cooperation
The knowledge-exchange initiatives further reinforced the continuing association between ONGC, ONGC Videsh Limited and PetroVietnam. By facilitating professional interaction and sharing technical expertise, the programmes created opportunities for future collaboration, innovation and mutual learning. ONGC’s Institute of Reservoir Studies in Ahmedabad served as the host institution, bringing together technical expertise and industry experience to support professional development. As reported by indianmasterminds.com, the programmes highlight the role of international knowledge-sharing partnerships in strengthening technical capabilities, promoting cooperation and supporting the continued development of the global oil and gas industry.
