GHCL commenced commercial production of liquid bromine (Br₂) at its new facility in Gujarat, with an annual production capacity of 2,800 metric tons (MT). The company began operations on October 12, 2026, marking a significant expansion of its chemical manufacturing portfolio. The new facility is located at Village Kathivadar, 122/1/K/Paiki, Taluka Rajula, District Amreli, Gujarat.
Expanding GHCL’s Chemical Product Portfolio
With the launch of commercial bromine production, GHCL is strengthening its presence in the chemicals and commodity chemicals segment. This addition expands the company’s existing product portfolio and creates opportunities to serve a wider range of customers. Moreover, the new production capacity will enable GHCL to cater to demand from both domestic and international markets.
Strengthening Domestic and International Market Reach
The commencement of production reflects GHCL’s efforts to expand its market reach and tap into demand across multiple geographies. By adding liquid bromine to its product portfolio, the company aims to serve a broader customer base in India and overseas. As reported by scanX, although the initial disclosure does not specify individual export destinations, the facility’s planned focus on domestic and international markets highlights its potential to support GHCL’s future growth in the chemical sector.
