Shakti Pumps (India) Limited announced an investment of ₹10 crore in its wholly owned subsidiary, Shakti Energy Solutions Limited (SESL), to support the development of a 2.20 GW greenfield solar cell and photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing facility in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. The proposed plant will manufacture high-efficiency solar cells and solar PV modules under the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) category. Through this investment, the company aims to expand its presence in India’s renewable energy manufacturing sector.

Facility to Manufacture High-Efficiency Solar Cells and Modules

The planned manufacturing facility will have an annual production capacity of 2.20 GW. It will focus on high-efficiency solar DCR cells and solar PV modules, supporting the growing demand for domestically manufactured solar energy components. Furthermore, the greenfield project will expand SESL’s existing business activities, which include solar structures and rooftop solar solutions.

Strengthening India’s Renewable Energy Manufacturing Ecosystem

The investment marks a strategic expansion for Shakti Pumps into solar cell and module manufacturing. By developing domestic production capabilities, the company aims to strengthen its position in India’s renewable energy supply chain and broaden its solar energy portfolio. As reported by solarquarter.com, the proposed facility in Madhya Pradesh will add to the country’s domestic solar manufacturing capacity and support the wider adoption of solar energy solutions.
