The Andhra Pradesh government signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹51,000 crore in clean energy investments, marking a decisive push toward expanding the state’s renewable energy capacity. The agreements were formalised at the Green Hydrogen Summit at SRM University, Amaravati. They reinforce the state’s goal to become a green hydrogen hub.

Major Green Ammonia Project by Yamna

UK-based Yamna has pledged an investment of ₹16,000 crore to set up a one million tons per annum (mmtpa) green ammonia facility at Krishnapatnam. The project will boost Andhra Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem while supporting India’s transition to cleaner fuels.

JKSH Green Power and Hynfra Commit ₹35,000 Crore

In another major development, JKSH Green Power and Hynfra will jointly invest ₹35,000 crore in a large-scale clean energy project at Machilipatnam. The venture aims to produce 150 ktpa of green hydrogen and 600 ktpa of green ammonia. It will greatly strengthen India’s green energy supply chain.

Driving Andhra Pradesh Toward ‘Hydrogen Valley’ Status

These investments highlight Andhra Pradesh’s proactive strategy to attract foreign capital and accelerate its clean energy ambitions.
