BVFCL and AVFCCL Sign MoU for Ammonia-Urea Complex in Namrup

Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation (BVFCL) and Assam Valley Fertilizer and Chemical Company (AVFCCL) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to formalize land-use rights at Namrup for the proposed Ammonia–Urea Complex.

The MoU sets the stage for preparatory and pre-project activities. It establishes a clear framework for land access, usage, and management. It also defines the roles, responsibilities, and safeguards for both companies during project execution.

Leadership at the Signing Ceremony

Mohan Raj Shetty, Chairman and Managing Director of BVFCL, and Siba Prasad Mohanty, Managing Director of AVFCCL, attended the signing ceremony. Both leaders highlighted the collaboration as a crucial step toward advancing fertiliser production in Northeast India and supporting the region’s industrial and agricultural development.

Boosting Fertiliser Production and Regional Growth

Once operational, the AVFCCL facility is set to become the largest urea-producing unit in Northeast India.

The project aims to:

*Increase fertiliser availability for local farmers

*Strengthen agricultural productivity and rural livelihoods

*Contribute to regional industrial growth and economic development
