DCM and AIL form Alliance for Chlorine Supply

DCM Shriram Ltd and Aarti Industries Ltd (AIL) have entered into a long-term strategic agreement to supply chlorine. Under the arrangement, DCM Shriram Chemicals will act as the exclusive chlorine supplier for AIL’s upcoming downstream chemicals facility at Zone IV, Jhagadia, Gujarat.

State-of-the-Art Pipeline to Enhance Supply

As part of the collaboration, the companies will construct a jacketed underground chlorine pipeline connecting their plants. Engineered with precision, the pipeline is designed to prioritize safety, reliability, and environmental protection. Once operational, AIL will increase chlorine purchases by 200 tons per day. This adds to the 150 tons per day currently supplied by DCM Shriram Chemicals.

DCM Shriram Highlights Long-Term Value

Sabaleel Nandy, ED and CEO, DCM Shriram Chemicals, said, “This agreement marks a milestone in strengthening the trust and collaboration between DCM and AIL. By securing long-term chlorine supply through world-class infrastructure, we reinforce our leadership in safe, sustainable, and reliable chemical integration. This partnership not only underscores DCM Shriram’s credibility as a preferred supplier but also enhances our ‘indirect chlorine integration’—a key lever to maximize value and optimize our caustic soda capacities.”

AIL Focuses on Reliability and Cost Efficiency

Suyog Kotecha, CEO of AIL, added, “This partnership leverages mutual synergies to support cost-effective production of critical chemicals. It demonstrates AIL’s commitment to long-term, strategic collaborations that enhance supply security while prioritizing operational safety and sustainability. Chlorine is a vital component of our value chain, and securing it via a dedicated pipeline ensures reliability and efficiency. Building on our experience at Zone-II, Jhagadia, this collaboration with DCM Shriram enables us to deliver greater value to customers, investors, and communities through safer and more reliable operations.”
