Enviro Infra Engineers Limited (EIEL) bagged a ₹400 crore project from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). The contract marks EIEL’s strategic entry into the Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) segment—a critical step in India’s push for sustainable industrial practices.
Upgrading CETPs to Protect the Panchganga River
The high-impact project involves upgrading Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) located in the cooperative industrial estates of Ichalkaranji, Hatkanangale, and Yadrav in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur district. The objective is to prevent pollution of the Panchganga River, a vital water source in the region. EIEL will execute the project over a 24-month period, covering the design, supply, construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and operations & maintenance of state-of-the-art ZLD CETPs.
Advanced Technologies to Drive Environmental Impact
The upgraded CETPs will incorporate cutting-edge technologies such as:
*Ultrafiltration (UF)
*Reverse Osmosis (RO)
*Multiple Vapor Recompression (MVR)
As reported by businessupturn.com, these systems will ensure that treated water meets stringent environmental standards, with zero liquid discharge into natural water bodies—a critical requirement for industrial sustainability.
Leadership Perspective: A Strategic Leap Forward
Sanjay Jain, Chairman of EIEL, stated, “This project represents a pivotal moment for EIEL. It not only showcases our engineering and execution capabilities but also marks a strategic expansion in Maharashtra. We are proud to support the restoration of the Panchganga River through this environmentally significant assignment.”
